‘feddabonn’ is a self-conscious acknowledgement of the stereotype of tribals in terms of feathers and bones, delivered in a very bad wannabe-rasta accent. originally from shillong in the hills of north east india, i now live in auckland, aotearoa new zealand. when not working this blog i am a part-time library assistant, proud house husband, and a struggling student of visual/material culture. this blog/site owes much to an earlier incarnation as bottlebroke, and is still informed by the principles of ‘breaking bottles’ that underpinned that.
a) i don’t see myself as ‘creator’ or ‘creative’ in any real sense. i find the best work comes *through me rather than *from me.
b) i don’t want my work to live forever. i hope my stuff lives a fruitful life, and dies when the time comes, like everything else born of the sky father and the earth mother.
c) i tend to believe in copyleft, and tend not to believe in rulers.
d) i see my role in the world as being part of a constant resistance, helping restore the balance visualised in the taijitu, in whatever way i can.
e) i’m often a fan of lo-tech, DIY and number-8-wire attitudes.
